Introduction

The Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying caters to the training and research needs of the students to four specialized areas viz. Livestock Production and Management, Animal Nutrition, Poultry Science and Dairy Technology. Courses are offered to the under graduate, post graduate & Ph.D. students. .

The research conducted include cost benefit annalists of milk production, voluntary feed intake, use of neem leaf extract for preserving eggs at room temperature, processing of milk and milk products, use of herbal coagulants as ginger and papaya for chhena and rasgolla preparation, Basundi (rabi & khoa), rasmalai and ice-cream preparation etc. Soycow (SC-20) machine is available for the preparation of soymilk. Faculty members actively Participated in National & International Seminars.

Future research thrust areas are Diary management viz breeding, health care, housing for increasing milk production, appropriate technology for production of yoghurt, ice-cream, Rasmalai monitoring quality of milk and milk products, Development of herbal drugs for increasing growth & fertility rate of animals. Nutritional management of Bovines and Animal health.
